For some time now pay per click marketing has been used by new and experienced internet marketers who want to provide increased traffic to their website in a short space of time. As far as marketing your company or website is concerned, it is way ahead of other methods of advertising available. There are a great many misunderstandings about how pay per click works which I hope will be addressed below.
The concept is simple; by placing a text advertisement with a link to your site on a larger website that is very busy, you can direct traffic to visit yours. Providing the person who sees and clicks on your links stays for longer than ten seconds, the site they cam from gets paid from your account as a thank you. The sites that provide you with hosting when it comes to this sort of advertisement are usually big with a large amount of traffic and will have some relationship to the product or services that you are trying to put across. This is a cost effective method because you only pay for the advertising you use so if no-one is redirected to your site, nothing is owed.
Of course with traditional advertising which is very costly, there is no guarantee any visitor will even bother looking at your ad, let alone give you any business. There have been stories about companys competitors carrying out dirty tricks by continually clicking on their link in an effort increase their advertising costs but thankfully that is not something that occurs very often. Because the marketing with pay per click is targeted there is less money lost on advertising in the wrong areas. You basically have a captive audience of people looking for something you are marketing, on a related site they are visiting.
There are a number of these pay per click programs available but it is Google who have captured the market with their Adwords system. All that happens is people will only see your advert if they enter a search phrase or just a single word that you have designated Google to use. If you have paid a great deal for the search term you may find your sponsored advert at the top of Googles search page or it might be at the side.
No-one can argue that this is an extremely fast and efficient way to see you advert and why so many people love pay per click. When the ad goes up, you will have a good idea as to whether or not it is effective. This is a simple and easy system to understand that is incredibly powerful and effective at the same time so it is not surprising that almost all companies use pay per click search marketing.
